A real AutoLab appointment

2021 Nissan Rogue radar calibration: vertical value out of range

The front radar calibration initially stopped because its vertical correction value was outside the range shown by the scan tool. The horizontal reading was already acceptable. AutoLab subsequently completed the static calibration within specification.

Case statusStatic calibration completed

Record behind this case: Initial scan-tool photograph and technician-confirmed completion recorded September 23, 2026. Customer details are omitted.

What the failed attempt actually showed

The Autel millimeter-wave radar adjustment screen displayed two separate correction values. One green indicator did not mean the procedure had passed: the vertical measurement still prevented completion.

Vertical correction4.30−2.5 to 3.0Outside range

Why the mounting and setup needed attention

The failure screen identified the vertical position of the distance sensor or target as possible reasons for the stopped routine. The radar mounting area was inspected while the vertical issue was investigated.

That message alone did not establish that the radar was defective or that its bracket was bent. The recorded case does not establish a single confirmed root cause, a replacement part, or a universal adjustment direction. Those distinctions matter when deciding whether to order a sensor.

The documented outcome

The technician confirmed that the static calibration was brought within specification, and the workfile was closed as completed. Exact final correction values and an all-module clear post-scan are not claimed here.

The numbers above describe this failed attempt on this vehicle. They are not setup specifications for another Rogue, model year, radar, or scan-tool routine.

What this means for an owner

A failed calibration can require further setup or mounting investigation without immediately proving that an expensive radar needs replacement. Send the warning, repair history, and any previous calibration report so the starting condition can be reviewed.

  • Describe any bumper, grille, collision, alignment, or sensor work.
  • Keep the failed calibration report as well as the final result.
  • Let the required vehicle procedure determine the repair and calibration path.

Common questions

Does a red vertical value mean I need a new radar?

Not by itself. In this case it showed that the attempted calibration was outside its allowed range. The scan-tool message pointed to sensor or target positioning as possibilities; it did not prove an internal radar failure.

Can I use these values to adjust my own vehicle?

No. These are observations from one job, not manufacturer instructions. AutoLab reviews the vehicle identification and applicable procedure before setting up a calibration.
