A calibration target cannot repair an internal module fault, correct the wrong part, straighten a damaged bracket, restore network communication, or remove an obstruction. The vehicle has to meet its prerequisites first.
Six common blockers
Requirements vary by vehicle, but most failed starts fit into one or more of these categories.

A shifted bracket, damaged support, incorrect grille, glass-mounted camera bracket, ride-height change, or body-repair error can place the sensor outside its allowable starting position.
A replacement camera or radar may have the wrong part number, coding, dataset, software level, adaptations, component protection, or vehicle configuration.
Haze, contamination, coatings, stickers, incorrect glass, grille material, emblem damage, moisture, or an obstruction can prevent a camera or radar from obtaining a usable view.
Alignment, tire pressure, ride height, loading, steering-angle status, fuel level, floor condition, and target distance may be prerequisites rather than optional details.
Some vehicles use a static target, some use a controlled dynamic drive, and some require both. The exact system, equipment, and repair history determine the procedure.

The decision
The correct parts are installed, faults and geometry meet the manufacturer's prerequisites, the sensor view is clear, and the vehicle is communicating normally.
